A Wanneroo man has been charged for parking in front of a speed camera.

POLICE charged a Wanneroo man on Tuesday, alleging he obstructed a speed camera by parking a car in front of it in Sinagra.

Officers accused the 32-year-old man of parking a white Holden Rodeo in front of a camera and walking from the scene near Caporn Street and Garden Park Drive about 7.40pm.

Police Media spokesman Samuel Dinnison said the camera operator reported the incident.

“The officers began to search for the man… members of the public waved them down and informed them that they had seen the man park the car, and showed the officers where he had walked to,” he said.

The investigators searched a Caporn Street property where they found a man who fitted the witnesses’ description.

They charged him with obstructing a public officer and driving without a licence. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
