Marangaroo man charged trying to import cocaine through webpage

POLICE allege a 27-year-old Marangaroo man attempted to import 175g of cocaine, with a street value of tens of thousands of dollars, through the mail via an underground webpage this month.

Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said a search of the man’s home on September 11 uncovered a further 10g of cocaine and a small amount of cannabis.

He was charged with the attempted possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply over the alleged mail order.

Police also charged him with possession of a prohibited drug with attempt to sell or supply over the smaller amount of cocaine, and possession of a prohibited drug over the cannabis find.

He will face Joondalup Magistrates Court on September 25.
