Progress on Hocking childcare centre plans

PLANS for a Hocking child care centre have progressed with the Wanneroo City council approving a development application last week.

The Wyatt Grove Shopping Centre facility will cater for a maximum of 62 children up to the age of five and 14 staff

Councillors referred an application for the centre back to staff in July for a safety audit on a nearby service lane and refused another in September because of a parking shortfall.

The matter has been subject to State Administrative Tribunal directions hearings and mediation with an extra 16 parking bays directly east of the centre proposed.

These adjoining bays can be access from Nicholas Road.

The centre’s operating hours are to be 6.30am to 6.30pm weekdays excluding public holidays.
