LOCAL students will put together the life stories of aged care residents as part of Dementia Awareness Month.

Eight Kingsway Christian College students visited Bethanie Geneff in Innaloo four times this month to meet and interview residents.

The students will write the residents’ life stories and present them as a keepsake.

Staff and families will use the stories to help them engage in meaningful conversations with the residents.

The activity aimed to give the students a better understanding of dementia and how to communicate with people who have the condition.

It followed a presentation from Bethanie’s dementia consultant Michelle Harris.
