The Hillarys artist recently won the Australian Institute of Professional Photography WA Photographer of the Year Award, as well as the title as best illustrative photographer.
It is the second year in a row she has won the illustrative category.
‘My personal projects seem to be excelling at the awards,’ Ms Johansson said. ‘I think this has to do with the storytelling and creative ideas behind the images.’
Ms Johansson said after falling in love with photography in high school, she had been able to establish herself as a professional artist working in portraiture and weddings.
‘We are lucky with the studio, we predominantly do wedding and portraits and that allows us to be creative,’ she said.
‘The more our clients see really creative work I have done for myself, they trust and want me to be creative with their shoots.’
