Organised by Edith Cowan University and Ruah Mental Health to promote World Mental Health Day, a flash mob of about 50 dancers put on a high-energy performance.

Ruah manager Viv Doran said it was important to reach out and connect with people who were not coping well.

‘Mental health is something that affects everyone, and positive mental health is something that everyone can take a proactive role in,’ she said.

ECU international psychology program co-ordinator and Social Justice Research Centre deputy head Eyal Gringrant said it was important people talked about mental health issues

‘We find it easier to talk about what we eat, the way we look and whether or not we exercise, than we do about what is in our minds and hearts,’ he said.
