Recipe for a great fundraiser

A group of six mothers formed a cookbook committee through the P&C to help raise funds for the project and invited families to submit copies of family favourites.

‘A competition was held to name the book and the name selected was Madeley on a Plate,’ committee member Natalie Belcastro said. ‘The book features around 250 recipes, including starters, snacks, soups, salads, mains, desserts, biscuits, cakes and slices.’

Mrs Belcastro, Tracey Rutter, Nicole Forrest, Claire Weale, Natalie Italiano and Mariesa O’Donnell approached local businesses to purchase advertising space in the books local directory to cover printing costs. The hard cover, glossy page book includes pictures of the recipes and costs $25.

‘All sale proceeds go directly back to the school and will be used to purchase much needed resources ” if we sell all 1000 copies we will make around $22,000 for the school,’ Mrs Belcastro said. Copies can be bought through the Madeley Primary School office or by contacting Natalie Belcastro on 0415 241 381.
