AN impromptu meeting at Green's Playhouse Ballroom in Glasgow was the beginning of Alexander and Maureen Chisholm's enduring love story.
The Currambine residents recently celebrated 60 years of marriage and set off on an 18-night cruise this month around New Zealand to mark the occasion.
‘Mum and Dad emigrated to Australia in April, 2003, and have three children and four grandchildren,’ their daughter Sandra Goodwin said.
‘Dad was a railway train driver with Scotrail for 51 years and mother was a shorthand typist.’
The couple are now in their 80s and said the secret to a long and happy marriage was a sense of humour and homemade cooking.
