RON Privilege spoke of the muddied moonscapes of the Western Front in Joondalup’s Central Park on Tuesday.
During his address at this year’s Joondalup Remembrance Day service, the Korean War veteran and former Wannneroo Joondalup RSL president said such images had defined the horror of war.
“These images have never lost their power,” he said.
His address preceded the laying of wreaths by City of Joondalup Freeman Nick Trandos and others in a ceremony led by the RSL’s John Duffy in which Challenge Brass Band bugler Ricky Wileman played the Last Post and the Bambara Primary School choir performed Donna Marwick-O’Brien’s We Will Remember Them.
