Recycling e-waste

Tyler BrownWanneroo Times

People can drop off e-waste items to be recycled from 9am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday at the rear of the centre. Staff will be available to help lift bulky items.

This will be the first of four collections this year. The last two City of Joondalup events in 2014 saw more than 30 tonnes of e-waste recycled. Recycling e-waste allows resources such as tin, nickel, aluminium, copper, lead and mercury to be recovered and re-used, while keeping old technology out of landfill and stopping potentially hazardous materials from leaking into the environment.
