The Greenwood-based group crocheted together dozens of donated knitted squares into 19 rugs for those doing it tough this winter.

Supervisor Colleen Burgess said she wanted the donors to know how much warmth her gift would bring in the organisation’s special year.

‘The rugs will be distributed to the homeless and disadvantaged during the cooler months,’ she said.

‘If you would like to learn to knit or crochet, come along to our group at Greenwood Scout Hall in Calectasia Street every Tuesday, 10.30am to 2pm.

‘A happy time is assured.

‘We are celebrating our 29th birthday in April.’
