THE Wanneroo Road widening project is experiencing further delays, with part of the project having to be redone.

Main Roads WA has advised that the Golf Links Drive junction needs remedial work, so will no longer re-open in mid-September.

“Due to adverse weather conditions experienced whilst completing the pavement there is now a requirement to undertake some remedial works,” it said.

“Some layers of the new pavement and kerbing will be removed in the coming week, and pending dry weather conditions, reworks will begin.

“It is currently expected that Golf Links Drive will reopen in mid-October.

“A significant period of dry weather is required for the underlying layer of pavement to dry and to allow subsequent works to be undertaken such as prime, seal and asphalt.”

The Metropolitan Road Improvement Alliance is delivering the dual carriageway project between Joondalup Drive and Flynn Drive and construction is scheduled to finish in late 2018.
