However, they have charged a 23-year-old resident at the property with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition and cannabis possession.
Warwick Senior Sergeant Brad Burnett said officers found the illegal items while investigating the April 17 shooting at the Hoypoy Gardens house.
He said they were still looking for the person responsible for the shooting, making it clear police did not suspect the resident charged with firearm possession had fired the shots himself.
The shooting was initially thought to be a drive-by, but Sen Sgt Burnett said that was not the case.
‘We know it wasn’t shot from a car; someone has walked up to the window and shot,’ he said.
No one was home during the incident. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
