Warwick Detectives officer in charge Senior-Sergeant Brad Burnett said police were still searching for the offender after residents reported hearing a number of shots around the neighbourhood leading up to the incident in an alley off Whitehouse Drive about 8.30pm on Saturday, April 26.
A 42-year-old man was eating a takeaway meal with his 38-year-old partner in the vehicle when a man banged on the driver’s window, with what was believed to be a gun, before speaking to the pair.
He fired a bullet into the rear driver’s side door panel, but it did not have enough power to pierce it.
‘The bullet didn’t actually go into the car, it was lodged in the side of the car,’ Sgt Burnett said.
The offender was described as fair skinned, 175 to 180cm tall and of a medium-thin build.
He had a goatee beard, a blue hoodie and jeans.
