Road connect expected to revitalise Wanneroo town centre

A ROAD connection from Rocca Way to Conlan Avenue is expected to help revitalise the Wanneroo town centre.

Wanneroo Council approved the connection during a confidential session at its meeting on Tuesday night.

The result of the construction and upgrades will allow the two roads to connect, creating a ‘main street’ in the Wanneroo town centre.

It aims to establish a pedestrian and low-speed vehicular connection between Wanneroo Road and Dundebar Road, through the town centre.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the project would revitalise the town centre and modernise the dining and shopping experience for visitors.

“The Rocca Way and Conlan Avenue connection will create a sense of place by activating the space, as well as become a focal point around a new entrance to the shopping centre,” she said.

The council unanimously agreed to list an extra $25,000 in its 2018-19 Budget for the project.
