WANNEROO City councillors have agreed to cover cost increases at the Alexander Drive-Illawarra Crescent junction upgrade, but will pay only half now.
Following concerns about a $250,000 increase in costs of the City of Swan project to install traffic signals, the council agreed on November 10 to allocate $110,000 to its 2015-16 capital works budget. However, it will pay only $55,000. The remainder would be subject to a report on the cost changes.
The project, which finished in June, was originally expected to cost $330,000 but Swan chief executive Mike Foley said the relocation of services escalated costs.
