A MAN who dumped a TV, tyres and concrete in State forest in Jandabup was fined in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday.

Lloyd Gabor Nagy (32) was fined $1000 and ordered to pay $742.50 in costs after he pleaded guilty to dumping a trailer load of household junk about 12.30pm on May 26 near Westbrook Road.

Covert cameras caught the Rockingham resident dumping the waste, which also included building materials and soil.

Nagy told Magistrate Gregory Benn it happened at a “dark time” in his life and he “had a bad run”.

“I’ve since kept my nose clean” he said.

Mr Benn said “I’m glad to hear things are improving for you”.

Department of Water and Environmental Regulation senior manager waste operations Matt Warnock said the fine should act as a warning to ‘would-be’ dumpers.

“Illegal dumping can impact people’s health and the environment and impose significant clean-up costs,” he said.
