Warwick-Greenwood Bulls player John Cotterell has organised the event to help his father who was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2010 and to raise money for research into the rare cancer.
‘He was given six to 12 months but with ongoing treatment he is still alive today,’ Cotterell said.
‘He will never beat the cancer and financially, it is taking a toll so about two months ago I contacted Ross Glendinning to see if he could donate his time to do a sportsmen’s night.’
Along with the West Coast Eagles foundation captain telling stories from his playing days and answering questions, there will be a sports memorabilia auction.
Items include a 2013 Fremantle Dockers guernsey signed by the full playing squad, a 2006 Western Force jersey signed by the inaugural squad, a Perth Scorchers shirt signed by Brad Hogg and a 1997 Ashes Australian team photo with signature prints.
The event will be held at the clubrooms at Penistone Park with doors opening at 6.30pm to start at 7.15pm.
Tickets are $25 at the door or on firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a door prize, sausage sizzle and a full bar will be available.
