Neuroscientist Lyn Beazley, the 2015 WA Australian of the Year and national finalist for Australian of the Year, visited the college on August 10.

In 2013, Professor Beazley, who is Murdoch University's Science Ambassador and the former chief scientist of WA, officially opened the Darch school's science block, which includes six purpose-built laboratories.

Results of the school's 2015 Big Science Competition were announced, with junior distinctions awarded to Anna Illiescu, Catherine Osman, Erich Mohle, Mia Adams and Rhys Bates.

Intermediate high distinctions went to Bianca Van der Spuy, Faith Chang and Mikala Bower, while Christy Bower and John Matthews received senior high distinctions.
