Members are busy knitting, sewing and woodworking for a stall, where they will also promote the group’s many activities.

President Graham Furey said the club had plenty to offer newcomers, including pool, bingo, ceramics and indoor bowls.

‘We are also looking for ceramics and computing teachers,’ he said.

‘Our membership has been declining, mainly because of members’ illness. Our youngest member is around 50 and our oldest Alf Smallacombe, who is captain of our games room, is 98.’

The group meets at the Patrick Court clubrooms, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8.30am to 2pm. Call Graham on 0421 199 324.
