Service expected to draw big crowd

Justin BianchiniWanneroo Times

The City of Joondalup and Wanneroo-Joondalup RSL service will start at 6am, with attendees asked to arrive before 5.45am. It is the first remembrance service at Central Park since the installation of an M2A2 Howitzer field gun at the western end of the park earlier this year.

Storyboards of the Anzac journey have been installed on the perimeter limestone wall.

The howitzer, which Rev John Myles blessed this week, was in service with the Australian military until it was decommissioned.

Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said it would be great to see as many people as possible from across the Perth metropolitan area turn out for the service.
