The City’s report presented at the July council meeting said the company offered a competitive lump sum price, had relevant experience with similar projects and employed experienced and suitably qualified staff.

Councillor Samantha Fenn told attendees it was much needed in the suburb.

“It is sure going to be a well anticipated facility and well used by members of the community,” she said.

The Department of Sport and Recreation provided a $1 million Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund grant for the project, with $2.8 million listed in the City’s 2017-18 budget.
