Wanneroo Show goes on with help from City sponsorship

WANNEROO City Council has backed a sponsorship agreement to provide $34,100 each year for the next three Wanneroo Agricultural Shows.

The City will provide waste management services, health services approvals, City of Wanneroo advertising, entertainment, a community marquee and cleaning.

As part of the agreement, the Wanneroo Agricultural Society, a not-for-profit community organisation, will acknowledge the City as its principal sponsor and provide it show space with the mayor invited to speak at the ceremonies.

Cr Dot Newton, who is the society’s new president, said the show still provided a family-friendly event.

She said she was pleased with the City’s three-year commitment to an event that was run by volunteers.

Cr Brett Treby said the show was a part of Wanneroo’s fabric and history.
