PLASTIC and reconstructive surgeon Adrian Brooks will give a free talk on surgical treatments for melanoma and skin cancer in Joondalup on Thursday.
In the June 23 presentation, Dr Brooks will outline current and emerging surgical treatments for melanoma and skin cancer.
Operating from Joondalup and Hollywood private hospitals, the consultant plastic surgeon grew up in England and attended the University of Southampton then completed all of his post-graduate education in Australia.
Dr Brooks has worked in the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and undertaken advanced surgical training in plastic and reconstructive surgery in WA.
He has worked in all fields of adult plastic surgery and undertakes hand surgery, burns surgery, microsurgery, flap reconstruction, cosmetic surgery.
Dr Brooks also has a particular interest in body contouring post weight loss and breast surgery for asymmetry and tuberous breast deformity.
He is a panel member of the WA Melanoma Advisory Service and has a keen interest in the management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer including sentinel lymph node biopsy and subsequent completion lymphadenectomy.
MelanomaWA will hold the talk at Genesis CancerCare, Shenton House, 57 Shenton Avenue, Joondalup from 6.30pm to 8pm on June 23.
