COCKMAN House visitors saw more than a historical display on Sunday when a dugite chose to have lunch in the dining room.

Staff found the snake eating a king skink lizard in the historic attraction in Woodvale, off Ocean Reef Road, on April 7 and called volunteer reptile remover Matt Lamb.

“Visitors to the venue got the opportunity to watch the snake swallow the rest of the lizard,” he said.

Mr Lamb removed the snake and released it in a safe area of natural bush.
