Songfest hits high note

This year’s Songfest ran over two days at Arena Joondalup last month, with half the choir performing one day and the remainder the next. The choir is too big for the venue for one performance.

Australia’s Got Talent finalist Chloe Marlow (11) made a guest appearance.

Musical director Donna Marwick-O’Brien said the festival was an important feature in the northern suburbs school year.

‘The festival is about positive thinking and positive attitudes, and embraced enthusiastically by teachers and students alike,’ she said.

Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts, a special guest at the festival, said the children were inspiring.

‘I got goose bumps just listening to them,’ she said.

‘They are a great credit to their teachers and the festival organisers.’
