Sound plan for big festivals

The hotline ” 9300 7100 ” was set up for Big Day Out held at the same venue earlier this month.

‘Very few complaints were raised by residents following the Big Day Out, indicating that the management plans put in place were effective in ensuring there was minimal impact on residents living near Arena Joondalup,’ Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said.

‘The City has a good track record when it comes to hosting successful big events, working closely with local venues, police and event organisers to ensure those in attendance, both local residents and visitors to Joondalup, have an enjoyable and safe time and that there is minimal impact on nearby residential and commercial properties.’

VenuesWest chairman Graham Partridge said ‘a limited number of inquiries’ were received about the Big Day Out and the majority related to the time the festival ended.

He said the suburban custodian teams, introduced for the first time at this year’s Big Day Out, would be operating on both days.

Teams of security and cleaning staff will patrol the surrounding suburbs and business areas during the events and after as festival-goers leave the venue.

‘Awarded quality management staff, an abundance of security and medical staff, large police presence both uniformed and undercover and VenuesWest staff will work collaboratively to ensure patrons’ safety at all times,’ Mr Partridge said
