ST Stephen’s School won the WA Teacher Librarian of the Year Award for the second year running.

Head of primary libraries Jo-Anne Urquhart was recognised for the positive effect she has on student achievement and information literacy, taking the title from last year’s winner and St Stephen’s head of library services Lise Legg.

“I am absolutely thrilled to receive this honour,” Mrs Urquhart said.

“For St Stephen’s School to claim this award for the past two years is remarkable, especially when you consider how many schools vie for this title.”

St Stephen’s School’s primary area was recently renovated, which included upgrades to the library.

Mrs Urquhart said the new “library without walls” was designed to “inspire and ignite a passion for reading amongst students”.
