Streetscape works given $400k boost

The money is the remaining amount from stage 1’s budget allocation of $1 million to improve the median strip and verges on Wanneroo Road between Church Street and |Noonan Drive.

Cr Dianne Guise urged the council to support the recommendation to approve stage 2, which includes further improvements to the verge sections north and south of the town centre.

‘It’s been a long time coming,’ she said.

‘As has money, which we have sourced and are able to do the works ” I think the community will welcome it.’ Most of stage 1 works will be done early next year.

A council report said stage 2 of the project aimed to use the remaining balance of the $1 million State Government grant.

Cr Frank Cvitan said he hoped the city centre would be the highlight of Wanneroo for visitors.
