Performed by students from Years 7 to 12, the production will start tomorrow night and continue until May 10.

Sacred Heart marketing officer Catherine Kolomyjec said the show was filled with colour and laugh-out-loud humour.

‘Bye Bye Birdie is a famous Broadway musical comedy telling the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army,’ Ms Kolomyjec said.

‘On Wednesday night, the cast of the college 1984 production of the same show will be coming as our special guests to watch the new show 30 years on and the two casts will be meeting on stage after the show.’

Production director Caitlin Wills said there were 80 cast members, 25 band members and 15 technical and stage crew.

‘There has also been hundreds of other students and staff involved with the art and set design, construction and front of house, so it has been a whole college effort,’ Ms Wills said.

‘The students have been rehearsing all year and it is satisfying to see so many students involved and excited about this week’s performance.’
