Mayor Tracey Roberts said the recent consultation results gave a sample of how the local community felt about the area.

“Our City is expanding by the largest amount of any town or city in WA and we need to ensure we keep our community at the heart of everything we do,” she said.

“Community consultation is essential for us to know how the people who live, work, visit or support the City of Wanneroo feel.

“It is great to see so many positive responses and the many varied reasons why people love their community.”

The consultation asked respondents to finish the sentence “I love my community because…”.

Residents revealed they thought the area was friendly, welcoming, had a beautiful coastline and beaches, great parks, a diverse community, was safe and there were plenty of things to do.

“Everyone is so friendly and happy to help in your time of need,” a Carramar resident said. “It is such a beautiful place to live. Love the sea, beaches, places and people,” a Mindarie resident said.

“Have lived here for 30 years, I feel like I belong. Interesting things to do,” a Wanneroo resident said.

Almost 120 residents and another 20 from other suburbs provided responses.
