Take two for medical centre

At the September briefing, acting planning director Mark Dickson said staff recommended the amendment be refused as it contradicted the precinct’s statement of intent to provide for specialised or ‘niche’ businesses.

Councillors deferred the item so it would be considered together with a second amendment to modify the statement of intent making ‘medical centre’ and ‘pharmacy’ accepted uses.

At last week’s briefing, Cr Bob Smithson asked if the City had responded to questions by Butler MLA John Quigley concerning costs from a recent State Administrative Tribunal hearing regarding last month’s recommendation to refuse the amendment.

Acting planning director Pas Bracone said he was not aware if it had.
