Ms Dyer was recognised for her refinishing work at the 2014 RAC Insurance Advantage Awards.
‘It was amazing to win, it shows all the hard work has paid off, it’s a great achievement,’ she said.
‘It’s a great incentive for apprentices.
‘It’s a reward for working hard and it gives people something to look forward to and another reason to try a little bit harder.’
Ms Dyer said many women have the skills and passion to work in the panel and paint industry.
‘There’s a lot more females coming into the industry now and I don’t think it’s an industry necessarily geared towards males,’ she said.
The award included a trip to Melbourne and tours through several major automotive manufacturing sites.
