Talented apprentice receives prized award

Ms Dyer was recognised for her refinishing work at the 2014 RAC Insurance Advantage Awards.

‘It was amazing to win, it shows all the hard work has paid off, it’s a great achievement,’ she said.

‘It’s a great incentive for apprentices.

‘It’s a reward for working hard and it gives people something to look forward to and another reason to try a little bit harder.’

Ms Dyer said many women have the skills and passion to work in the panel and paint industry.

‘There’s a lot more females coming into the industry now and I don’t think it’s an industry necessarily geared towards males,’ she said.

The award included a trip to Melbourne and tours through several major automotive manufacturing sites.
