Tapping’s Malcolm Taylor won best diorama for a British railway museum while president Raoul Chevalier, of Mullaloo, was second with a US port scene.

The museum display, stopping at all junctions, incorporated steam and diesel locomotives, a station platform with refreshments, London Transport pannier tank engine and a replica of the original rocket train.

There were also signals, a signal-box lever system, water crane with heater and loading crane.

Mr Chevalier said individual members had done their own thing this year after previous success with a club entry, the iron horse yard railway.
