Team Connect links Butler College students with community club

A SCHOOL program helped adolescent girls engage better with their communities this term.

Butler College teacher Joel Ledsham introduced the ‘Team Connect WA’ program for students earlier this year, using a collaborative and supportive approach to individuals, families, schools and community clubs.

Mr Ledsham said eight students, selected based on their social and emotional needs, were part of a team linked by the school to Quinns Rocks Junior Cricket Club.

He said the link supported their participation in organised sport, helping the girls develop “a sense of belonging and commitment to their community”.
