VIRTUAL reality goggles are among the technology Wanneroo Secondary College students are trying out for an expo next week.

The school is hosting the public STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) expo where students and staff will offer a variety of activities, experiments and interactive demonstrations.

More than 300 primary school students will attend before it opens to the public.

Attractions include a virtual reality goggle experience, insect displays, chemical bingo, hair-raising physics activities, maths games, 3D laser cutting and robotics demonstrations.

Teacher and expo co-ordinator Tash Kaur was looking forward to the event.

“The expo is a great opportunity for the community to get involved in hands-on science and gain an understanding in the new STEM curriculum subjects,” she said.

It runs at the school’s Tuart building from 3pm to 4pm on Wednesday, August 16.
