The Quinns Rocks resident (13) will fly to Las Vegas in August for the world Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament.
Based on a popular Japanese animated series, Yu-Gi-Oh! as similar to chess, but with cards instead of pieces, Callum said.
Players select 40 cards to form a deck, from the thousands available and then do battle with their opponent.

‘There are millions of combinations you can make a deck out of and you have to be good at maths to work out good strategies.’
Callum, who placed fifth in last year’s junior world tournament, began playing the game at the age of five with his dad Michael.
Michael said it wasn’t long before his son was ‘besting him’ in games.
‘He is affectionately known as ‘the kid’ by some of the senior players,’ he said.
