CURRAMBINE teenager Aaron Rust has been promoted after taking part in an Australian Army Cadets youth leadership course.

The 17-year-old was selected for the cadet under officer/warrant officer course that took place over nine days at Leeuwin Barracks and the Bindoon army training area.

He and other cadets learned about delivering drill lessons, instructional technique, training safety and service writing, and practised navigation, leadership and orders in the field.

Aaron’s completion of the course will see him promoted to cadet under officer and likely be appointed platoon commander of the Joondalup army cadet unit.
