The Butchers at Drovers still open after caretaker operator comes on board

Laura PondWanneroo Times

MEAT lovers can still get their fix despite the closure of a popular Wanneroo butchery.

The Butchers at Drovers closed last Friday, with customers clearing the shelves of products by mid-afternoon, but the store was up and running again on Sunday.

Drovers Market Place landowner Ray Jackson said a subsidiary of Crown Valley Meats had been appointed as caretaker operator of the butcher shop.

He said the previous tenant’s lease had been terminated because of non-payment and the business was put into administration on Friday.

The Butchers at Drovers confirmed the closure on Friday but declined to comment further.

Mr Jackson said though they were “working through a lot of issues”, the new tenant would operate for the foreseeable future and aim to “improve quality” for customers.
