THERE has been a shake-up in The Honey B’s with new member Sue Summers.
The Bassendean resident joins Kiri Ruffin, of Padbury, Katie McMahon, of South Guildford, and Kingsley resident Sharelle Walker.
Walker said the harmony quartet, which formed in July 2015, performed in the style of The Andrews Sisters with a repertoire of classic songs from the 1940s to the 1970s.
“We originally started singing at nursing homes around Perth hoping to give back to the older generation and bring smiles to the faces of the residents,” she said.
“We have achieved that and more.
“It is extremely rewarding when the residents start singing along with us, taking their minds back to happy days and reliving the memories from yesteryear.”
Walker said the group performed regularly at nursing and aged care homes as well as retirement villages, milestone birthday parties, high teas, Christmas functions and anniversaries.
“We can cater the songs to meet the needs of any private function,” she said.
