ELEVEN piece Perth band The Milford Street Shakers will take audiences on a soulful journey through the 1950s to 1970s at Retro Rewind in Yanchep National Park this month.

The band lead by vocalist Yara Neto doing renditions of James Brown, Etta James and Aretha Franklin’s classic songs will be the headline act at the free City of Wanneroo event on February 22, with support acts Randa and The Soul Kingdom.

The event will celebrate all things retro from music to fashion to hot rod cars, with retro treasures for sale at the Vintage Collective Markets.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said Retro Rewind was always a great family day out.

“As well as the wonderful retro-inspired attractions, families will be able to enjoy Yanchep National Park itself,” she said.

“It is a truly a beautiful feature of the City’s northern corridor and new growth following the December bushfires makes Yanchep Park a perfect backdrop for such a vibrant and lively event.”

Park entry fees will be waived for the event, which will run from 1pm to 5pm.
