The Scrappy Quilters deliver warmth to Wanneroo Community Nursing Home

A DOZEN women have found a common thread in the ‘The Scrappy Quilters’ group.

The women, who range in age from 64 to 82 years young, meet at the Wanneroo Senior Citizen Club every Friday to make quilts.

“Most of us have been together for the past 12 years,” quilter Katherine Chivers said.

The group has been making quilts for Solaris, which is a support group for cancer patients, and recently extended donations to Wanneroo Community Nursing Home residents.

To aid their efforts, the group received a Lotterywest grant in 2017 for a quilting machine.
