Year 6 and 7 students spent one day in September filming their 30-second commercials for the Smarter than Smoking Young Directors Festival.

Three primary schools and three secondary schools will compete for the best anti-smoking film, with the winning entry screened at cinemas at the end of the year.

The festival aims to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of the health and social impacts of smoking.

The Girrawheen school received a grant to support the project.
