Top marks for educator

Mark Fielding was one of two West Australians to be awarded a New Voice scholarship from the Australian Council for Educational Leaders, winning the educational leadership research scholarship.

As the schools global programs director, Dr Fielding was recognised for his research on the challenges of globalisation on school education.

Given that globalisation is destined to influence schools in one form or another in the future, I believe that educational leaders and school communities need to be fully aware so they can position their schools accordingly, he said.

As part of the scholarship, Dr Fielding can attend the 2015 ACEL National Conference in Sydney, have his work published in the councils journal and will receive $500.

There were 20 scholarships awarded nationally across the categories of school leadership, educational research leadership and indigenous educational leadership.
