‘We wanted something with a bustling atmosphere that showcased the art of craft beers and ciders while still being family and student friendly,’ Cassie Rees, one of the organisers, said.

To be held at Joondalup’s Central Park on Saturday, November 23, the fair will feature more than 100 beers and ciders including international favourites Rekorderlig (Sweden) and Monteith’s Brewing Company (NZ) as well as home brews like Custard Scrumpy Cider from the Real River Company in Donnybrook.

Beers will include the Banana Bread Ale and Double Chocolate Stout from Wells and Young, liquorice-infused Twisted Thistle from Belhaven of Dunbar, German lagers, Fremantle pale ales and Scottish stouts.

Rees said the fair would be an opportunity to try a range of beverages that people might never have heard of before.

It will also include a range of different foods, roaming entertainers, live music, rides and market stalls from local designers and artists.

Wine will also be available.

The licensed event will run from noon to 7pm. Tickets are $29 (includes five samples) from oztix.com.au, with children under-15 admitted free with a parent or guardian.
