A committee from the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) will meet at Joondalup Resort this Sunday, ahead of next week’s International BiodiverCities Conference.

Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard will chair the meeting of the international BiodiverCities Advisory Committee (BAC), which includes executive directors of United Nations’ agencies and mayors from around the world.

Mr Pickard said this would be the BAC’s fifth meeting and the first held in the Asia-Pacific.

‘The agenda includes an update from ICLEI’s Cities Biodversity Centre on milestones and achievements since the last meeting, held in India last October, with new projects launched, tools and resources released and partnerships formed,’ he said.
