The exhibition, Dream-freedom-peace-birds, has been touring Australia and New Zealand for two years.

Sri Chinmoy wrote more than 1600 books, composed 22,000 pieces of music and painted 150,000-plus artworks before his death in 2007, aged 76.

Birds inspired him. ‘The bird knows no boundaries,’ he said. ‘It is a messenger of peace and freedom, born in the garden of the soul and taking flight in the heart.’

The official opening at the former blend(er) gallery in Central Walk is on May 10, at 2pm.

Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm.
