Traffic upgrades in Madeley to be done in three phases

Laura PondWanneroo Times

Councillors endorsed the City of Wanneroo’s proposal at the May 24 meeting, which means upgrades to Kingsway from Wanneroo Road to Ashdale Boulevard will be split into sections to allow phased funding.

The development will include installing medians and upgrading streetlights, with areas from Wanneroo Road to Sovrano Avenue and Hartman Drive to Ashdale Boulevard completed first.

The City intends to apply for State Government funding for the two sections, which will cost $765,000.

The remaining portion, which abuts Kingsway Sporting Complex, is estimated to cost $1.25 million so it recommended consultation with directly affected properties and a traffic study before reporting back to council in 2016/17.
