Two times the trouble for man

Clarkson police Acting Senior Sergeant Darren Lumb said police initially charged the man and a woman (21) on May 19 after searching a St Barnabas Boulevard property.

Sgt Lumb said police charged the man with stealing, no authority to drive, three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing amphetamines.

He said the woman, who was remanded in custody due to prior charges, would appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 15, on three counts of drug possession two for cannabis and one for methamphetamine.

Sgt Lumb said officers then saw the man riding a Kawasaki motorbike, reported stolen from Hasting Street in Wanneroo on May 22, on Mitchell Freeway about 2.10am on May 28.

He said when police attempted to stop the rider, he allegedly went through a red traffic signal onto Burns Beach Road and travelled north about 140km/h in the 70km/h zone on Connolly Drive in Kinross.

He was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, recklessly driving in circumstances of aggravation, failing to stop in circumstances of aggravation and no authority to drive, Sgt Lumb said.

He said police were investigating further charges related to the search in Quinns Rocks and looking for the owner of an off-road motorbike found there during the search.

It was road-registered (but) has had the (serial) number ground off, he said.
