Oliver Frost, Vincent Pettinicchio and Jarrad Capolingua have made up care packages to help the homeless.

The Whitford Catholic Primary School student was inspired to try to help after seeing homeless people while walking through Perth with his grandparents.

He is organising packs containing a blanket, towel, toothbrush, toothpaste and soap to be distributed to homeless people by the St Vincent de Paul Society.

‘Mum said that all these people are homeless for different reasons,’ he said. ‘People could be sick and don’t know how or where to get help. It doesn’t matter what the reason is, these people need help.’

So far Vincent has collected 60 packages, which will be distributed in the first week of June.

Items for the packs can be dropped off Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm at Our Lady of the Mission parish hall, 270 Camberwarra Drive, Craigie.
